The Platinum Lancer Award

For Perfect Attendance

The Platinum Lancer Award consists of a medal, suitable for pinning to one’s letter jacket and a special mention of the proclamation in any letter of recommendation that the student athlete may ask the coaching staff to write on their behalf.  The coaching staff believes that perfect attendance is the ultimate “selfless act” that a player can make to his or her teammates.  It establishes an “all in” attitude, and strengthens the bond that players must have with each other in order to be successful.

In looking for ways that we can continue to add value to the water polo experience for our players, the coaching staff believes that The Platinum Lancer Award will help to strengthen a student-athlete’s college resume.

Multiple Awards!  We will break our training sessions down to the following periods in order to allow players to earn multiple awards.  Our training sessions will be as follows:

Ø      Spring Session (2): May 18-June 4

Ø      Summer Session: June 15-July 23

Ø      Fall Session (1): August 24^th-Sept 4^th (Boys Double Days)

Ø      Fall Session (2): Sept 7-Nov13 (Boys WP season/Girls WP club season)

Ø      Winter Session (1): Nov. 16-Nov 28 (Girls Double Days)

Ø      Winter Session (2): Nov. 30-Feb 13 (Girls WP season/Boys WP club season)

Ø      Spring Session (1): Feb 22-May 7 (Boys and Girls Club season)

That’s right; it is conceivable that a player could earn 6 Platinum Lancer Awards during a single calendar year!  That would be amazing.

It is the hope of the Lancer Water Polo Coaching Staff that players will take advantage of this opportunity.  Can you imagine writing on your college resume that “I am a 6 time Platinum Lancer Award Winner?”  That would be impressive!
