11/15/05-Lancers Play Hard, Esperanza Just Too Strong-While Sunny Hills put up a valiant effort, in the end, it was an 8 goal out burst to open the game that ultimately proved to be too much, as #4 Esperanza, defeated Sunny Hills 12-5 in the 1st round playoff game.

11/04/05-Lancers Defeat Sonora 12-6, Face Esperanza In CIF Playoffs-The Lancers, gaining some revenge for an earlier Freeway League loss, took the lead early and kept on going Friday as they defeated Sonora by a score of 12-6.

Sonora, which lost it's first play-in game to Troy, 9-7, trailed all the way en route to finishing fourth in the Freeway League.  Sunny Hills which earlier had defeated Troy 10-8 in League Play, goes to the CIF playoffs as the Freeway League 2nd Place team.

The Lancers will open CIF play on Friday at 3:00 PM at Esperanza High School.

11/04/05-Lancers Play Today At 3:30 PM!-The losing team of the match between Troy and Sonora will play Sunny Hills today at 3:30.  It was initially reported that the game would be at 4:30, however a constitutional bylaw says the game will be a 3:30 start.
11/03/05-Sunny Hills Loss Sets Up 3 Way PlayOff On Friday-Soundly defeated by La Habra on Wednesday, the Lancers now find themselves in a three way playoff with Troy and Sonora.  

Troy and Sonora will play at 2:00 PM @ Sunny Hills on Friday.  The winner is in the playoffs, with the loser playing Sunny Hills at 4:30 PM.  The winner of the 4:30 Game will have it's head to head record with the winner of the 2:00 PM game compared to decided the 2nd and 3rd place positions in the Freeway League. 

10/29/05-Lancers Defeat Buena Park, Set Up Championship Show Down This Wednesday-The Lancers played two strong matches last week, defeating Buena Park, 15-5 and narrowly losing to Brea 11-9.

With their victory over Buena Park, Sunny Hills will now play La Habra this coming Wednesday with the Freeway League Title on the line.

Game time is 3:15 and will be played at Sunny Hills

10/20/05-Two League Wins In A Row, Lancers Defeat Fullerton, Solidify Playoff Position-The Lancers won a convincing victory over Fullerton on Wednesday, blitzing the Indians 14-6.  

Sunny Hills led 7-3 at half time, but put together a 6-1 run in the 3rd quarter to put the game out of reach.

10/13/05-Great Day To Be A Lancer!  Sunny Hills Dominates Cross Town Rivals-With their backs against the wall, Sunny Hills rebounded from a disappointing performance last week to soundly defeat Freeway League rival, Troy by a score of 10-8.

Leading 10-4 at the end of three quarters, Sunny Hills rode out the fourth quarter to maintain the victory.  The puts the Lancers right back in the thick of a Freeway League Championship race, and allows the Lancers to control their own destiny.  With La Habra defeating Sonora yesterday, Sunny Hills can be the Freeway League Champions if they can win out the rest of the way.

10/06/05-Lancers Miss Opportunities In League Opener-In a match that will undoubtedly haunt the Lancers, Sunny Hills lost its opening Freeway League match to Sonora yesterday by a score of 9-6.

Leading after one quarter 3-1, Sunny Hills proceeded to miss fire on opportunity after opportunity, going 2-6 on six on five opportunities and missing several break away chances.

Frustrating, because the Lancers clearly out shot and out played Sonora, Sunny Hills simply didn't convert on several excellent scoring opportunities.  The Lancer's undoing came during Sonora's 3-0 run during the 3rd period.

10/03/05-Lakewood Match Rescheduled-The October 7th match with Lakewood High School has been rescheduled for Thursday, October 13th at Sunny Hills.
10/03/05-Lancers Finish 6th At Cajon-Finishing in the runner up position in last year's Cajon Tournament, Sunny Hills experienced a couple bumps in the road this past weekend.  

Hampered by illness, Sunny Hills defeated Perris High School and Los Osos High School while losing to San Gorgonio and Arroyo Valley High Schools.

The Lancers have a record of 9 wins and 8 loses, as League season opens on Wednesday against Sonora.

9/29/05-Lancers Hit Stride With Week Of Heavy Training-Since being "weathered out" last week against Cerritos, Sunny Hills had a week of training, as the Lancers prepare for the upcoming League opener against Sonora.

Playing Tuesday, September 27th and Wednesday September 28th, Sunny Hills earned victories over Burroughs Burbank (17-8) and Savanah High School, (11-4.)  "The team played well and it appears that we will be ready for our 1st League game," stated head coach, Keith Nighswonger

9/21/05-Match With Cerritos Postponed-Severe weather forced the postponement of the Sunny Hills-Cerritos match that was to have been played at Sunny Hills yesterday.  The has not been rescheduled yet.

9/19/05-Lancers Finish 2nd In Western Tournament-Trying to get back to a full team and to find an offensive rhythm, Sunny Hills faced a busy week, starting off with a 7-6 loss to Arlington, but gradually picking up steam en route to a 2nd place finish at the Western Tournament.

The high light of the week was and 12-11 semi final victory of host Western at the Western Tournament.  The Lancers clearly played their best game of the season, and appear ready to hit a good stride.

9/12/05-Short Handed Lancers, Struggle At El Dorado-Sunny Hills struggled this past weekend in the El Dorado Tournament.  Playing short handed again, the Lancers won their first match against Laguna Hills, but then dropped three straight to enter week two with a 1-4 record.

The Lancers did show improvement over the course of the weekend, giving reason for optimism, however the coming weeks will bring some very strong opponants.

9/09/05-Lancers Slow Out Of The Blocks-The 2005 Sunny Hills boys  water polo season got underway yesterday at Canyon High School.   Sunny Hills, missing two players due to injury and a Coach's Decision, (CD,) trailed 7-6 with three minutes remaining.  However, Canyon scored 4 straight goals to close out the game
